It’s almost Q4, the best time of year for online sellers — it’s time to make some extra money!

That includes those of us who send out hyperlocal newsletters. It might not be as obvious, but this time of year you can make a bit of extra cash too.

Shop Local special

Sending out a special edition, whether it be in place of your normal weekly (or more frequent) newsletter or as an extra edition, with a shop local promotion fits perfectly with the hyperlocal newsletter theme.

This issue would be like a digital sales catalogue with products and services businesses want to promote around Christmas.

Instead of having one or two ads per issue, this edition could hold 10 or 20 ads, giving you a nice pre-Christmas boost, and helping businesses promote locally.

Promotional sale

Having a promotional sale of your ads or advertorials, where people can pre-book an ad spot next year is a great idea if you find selling ads difficult. Businesses get a locked-in discount and you don’t need to worry about finding someone to fill that spot.
